Dododo’s Hatchet Job: A Desperate Attempt to Smear Kabiru Turaki’s Reputation — Haruna Saeed

Haruna Saeed, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State, has described the recent statement credited to Sani Dododo — rejecting the endorsement of Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN as the northern consensus candidate for PDP national chairmanship — as a “malicious and desperate hatchet job” aimed at smearing the reputation of one of Nigeria’s most respected politicians.
Saeed said the outburst, published in The Punch Newspaper, was “ill-conceived, mischievous, and reflective of Dododo’s trademark character assassination tactics.”
“Dododo’s Record Speaks for Itself” — Saeed
According to him, Sani Dododo — a recent defector from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP — joined the party alongside Senator Adamu Aliero after years of openly attacking its leaders.
“His entry into the PDP was never about conviction or ideology, but sheer political survival after being rejected by both the APC and the ADC,” Saeed said. “His appointment as the state publicity secretary was a calculated infiltration — a mole planted to sow discord, spread falsehood, and undermine genuine party unity.”
“A Habitual Rabble-Rouser”
Saeed described Dododo as a man who “thrives on controversy and personal attacks” rather than constructive engagement. He reminded the public that while in the APC, Dododo frequently disparaged respected PDP elders such as Dr. Bello Halliru Mohammed and other party stalwarts, only to resurface in the PDP to continue the same divisive conduct.
“His recent vituperation against Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN — a loyal party man and statesman — is yet another example of a political undertaker at work,” he added.
Kabiru Turaki’s Enduring Legacy in Kebbi Politics
According to Saeed, Turaki remains one of the most consistent financiers and stabilising figures of the PDP in Kebbi State for over two decades. “Whenever the PDP is mentioned in Kebbi, two names stand tall — Kabiru Tanimu Turaki and Dr. Bello Halliru Mohammed,” he said.
He also listed respected figures such as General Ishaya Bamaiyi (rtd) and General Sarkin Yaki Bello (rtd) as examples of PDP loyalists who have stood “gidigba” in defence of the party’s ideals.
“Dododo’s Outburst Born of Frustration”
Saeed noted that Dododo’s statement betrays fear and political irrelevance: “Having found no foothold in the APC and ADC, he now hides under the PDP umbrella to settle old scores and curry favour from those threatened by Turaki’s rising national profile.”
“Politics is about service, sacrifice, and loyalty — virtues Dododo has consistently failed to demonstrate,” Saeed said. “His comments neither represent the will nor reflect the position of the PDP family in Kebbi State.”
“PDP Remains United Under Its True Leaders”
Saeed reaffirmed that the PDP in Kebbi State stands firmly behind Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, describing him as a man of integrity, intellect, and proven leadership.
“His endorsement by northern stakeholders as consensus candidate for the PDP chairmanship was not accidental — it was earned,” he said. “Dododo’s rantings are hollow and inconsequential.”
He urged party members to ignore Dododo’s “attention-seeking theatrics” and remain focused on strengthening the PDP ahead of upcoming national engagements.
“The Kebbi PDP family will not be distracted by agents of confusion masquerading as party loyalists,” Saeed stated. “Our unity is stronger than their propaganda.”
