“The current allegations are nothing but a strategy to derail my commitment to serving my people. Similar tactics were used against me even before I assumed office as the caretaker chairman.”

Ikani further clarified that the so-called evidence of payments circulating in the public domain does not bear his name or that of the Dekina local government, underscoring the fraudulent nature of the claims. He urged the public to dismiss these malicious stories, emphasizing his dedication to his role and the development of the local government area.

“I am passionate and committed to serving my people to the best of my ability. I will not be distracted by those whose sole aim is to tarnish my reputation,” Ikani stated.

Hon. John Urah Ikani was appointed as caretaker chairman by the former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, about six months ago. Since his appointment, he has been recognized for his exceptional performance, distinguishing himself as the best-performing local government administrator among the 21 local government areas in the state.
