Communities across Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State were thrown into chaos on Sunday evening as armed bandits launched coordinated attacks on multiple villages, leaving several people dead and many others abducted, this is according to information on X.com by a user, DanKatsina50.

The affected communities — Gidan Dawa, Gangara, Tsagero and Marke — all suffered significant casualties during the terrifying assault.

  • Gidan Dawa: 10 people were shot, with 4 confirmed dead.
  • Gangara: 3 people were killed, while a school and a residential building were set ablaze.
  • Tsagero: 6 people were killed and 3 others sustained injuries.
  • Marke: 5 people were killed and 3 residents were reportedly abducted.

The attacks have deepened fears among residents who say they remain vulnerable despite repeated calls for stronger security intervention. Locals described the assault as “relentless,” adding that the gunmen moved freely through the villages for hours.

Community leaders renewed urgent appeals to both the Zamfara State Government and federal authorities to deploy more security personnel to protect rural settlements that have become frequent targets of violent raids.

Many residents insist that unless decisive action is taken, the cycle of killings, kidnappings and displacement across Zamfara will continue unabated.

The Bureau News will continue monitoring developments and provide updates as more information becomes available.
