The Arewa Grassroots Development and Consultation Forum, a community-based think tank, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s 2025 budget, hailing it as a transformative “budget of development.”

In a statement issued in Kano by its leader, Ahmad Suleiman, the forum commended the budget’s strategic focus on critical sectors, emphasizing its potential to drive Nigeria’s economic growth and development.

The group particularly praised the allocation of ₦3.5 trillion for education, which Suleiman described as an investment in the country’s future by building an educated and skilled workforce. Additionally, the ₦4.06 trillion earmarked for infrastructure was lauded for its potential to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and long-term economic prosperity.

Suleiman highlighted the budget’s emphasis on transparency and citizen participation, noting that these measures reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to open governance. “This budget is more than a fiscal document; it is a blueprint for Nigeria’s resurgence,” he stated.

The forum further applauded the government’s prioritization of defence, security, health, and education, underscoring these allocations as evidence of a deep understanding of Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

The group urged the National Assembly to fast-track the passage of the budget and called on Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure transparency and accountability in implementing the allocated funds.

With this endorsement, the forum joins other stakeholders in expressing optimism about the budget’s potential to address Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges.
