To lessen the effects of the suffering in Nigeria, the Federal Government will start distributing grains to every state in the country.
Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, said this on Monday.
He wrote, “Dear Fellow Nigerians,” on his official X account. “I really sympathize with anyone impacted by the nation’s sufferings during these difficult times. I am aware of how serious the issue is, particularly in light of the regrettable food warehouse theft.
“I want to reassure you that our dedication to your well-being is unwavering even in the face of these problems. One of the initiatives to be launched this week is the distribution of 42,000 metric tons of cereals, as authorized by Mr. President, across the 36 states of the federation.
“To make sure that the grains reach the correct individuals in the right quantity and containers, we are collaborating closely with NEMA and the DSS. In addition, major rice millers will release 58,500 metric tons of milled rice into the market to help stabilize it.
The minister, while praising the Nigerian people for their tenacity, asked them to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration in tackling the nation’s problems.
“I recognize the Nigerian people’s strength, and it is their tenacity that will see us through these trying times. Let’s unite to assist the President in his efforts to improve Nigeria, Kyari remarked.
“Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s direction, our administration is dedicated to tackling these issues and striving for a more safe and prosperous future for everybody.”
