EFCC Arrests 21 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Bauchi

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), through its Gombe Zonal Directorate, has arrested 21 suspected internet fraudsters in Bauchi State.

The operation, which took place on March 15, was based on credible intelligence about their alleged involvement in cyber fraud. The arrests were carried out in Kaure New Government Reservation Area and Awala, Maiduguri Road, Bauchi.

Recovered Items

According to Dele Oyewale, EFCC’s spokesman, several items were seized from the suspects, including:

  • One BMW and Toyota Camry cars
  • Three PlayStation 5 consoles
  • 30 expensive mobile phones
  • One flat-screen television
  • Six Point of Sale (POS) machines
  • Four iPads
  • Five laptops

Legal Proceedings Underway

The EFCC stated that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
