Kano, Nigeria – The Super Eagles of Nigeria have safely returned from Libya, THE BUREAU NEWSPAPER reports. The team, along with their officials, touched down at Aminu Kano International Airport on Monday night.

The contingent had been stranded for several hours at Al Abaq Airport in Libya after arriving in the North African country on Sunday, ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday four encounter.

Following the prolonged ordeal and inhumane treatment the players were subjected to, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) made the decision to pull the team out of the scheduled match. The game was set to take place on Tuesday in Benina, Libya.
