Tragic School Shooting at Apalachee High School: 4 Dead, 30 Injured in Winder, Georgia
At least four people, including two students and two teachers, were killed in a shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. Approximately 30 others were injured, though it is unclear how many of those injuries resulted from gunshot wounds, according to law enforcement sources.
The shooter, a 14-year-old student, is in custody. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Director, Chris Hosey, confirmed that nine of the injured have been hospitalized. In response, all schools in the district were placed on lockdown, and police were deployed to other high schools as a precaution. Helicopters have been used to transport some of the critically injured to hospitals.
