Your Fall Is As Predictable As A Candy In Child’s Hand – El-Rufai To Gov Uba Sani

Date: June 18, 2024
Location: Kaduna State, Nigeria

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has stated that he is unconcerned by the ongoing investigation of his administration by the state House of Assembly, suggesting that the probe may not succeed. El-Rufai made these remarks during a Sallah gathering with his associates, marking his first public comment since the crisis with his successor began.

El-Rufai advised his associates to refrain from engaging in a war of words with the governor’s aides and instead, support the current administration through prayers. He predicted that Governor Uba Sani, who has been critical of El-Rufai’s tenure, would eventually lose momentum.

“Support the governor and his cabinet members with prayers for them to do the right thing. Don’t feel hurt with what’s going on. When he is done prancing, he will fall off like candy [in a kid’s hand],” El-Rufai said, drawing an analogy to emphasize his point.

This marks El-Rufai’s first public comment on the issue since the fallout with Governor Sani, highlighting his confidence and urging for unity and positive support for the current government amidst the political tensions.
