Operatives of the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS) have successfully apprehended a suspected kidnapper in the Ikefi community, located in the Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Area of the state. The suspect, identified as Abdullahi Abubakar, was nabbed by the Igalamela Command of the vigilante service on Friday at around 6 p.m.
In a statement released by the Head of ICT/Media, S.O. Saka, on Saturday, it was revealed that the suspect was found in possession of a wooden toy gun when he was arrested. The statement also highlighted that kidnappers had been terrorizing the community, forcing local farmers off their land as part of an attempt to carry out abductions.
The vigilant response of the operatives led to the suspect’s prompt arrest. Abubakar, along with the recovered exhibit, has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Idah Area Command, for further investigation and legal proceedings.
