Some residents of Kogi Central Senatorial District have accused organizers of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s recall process of deceiving them into attending what was presented as an empowerment program, only to be asked for their Voter’s Card and signatures upon arrival.
In separate interviews, several attendees claimed they were unaware of the real purpose of the gathering. It was only when they arrived at the venue that they realized it was an attempt to collect signatures for the senator’s recall. Some, upon discovering the truth, strongly objected and walked away.
Earlier today, a video surfaced showing a group of Ebira youths confronting individuals who had unknowingly queued up for the exercise after allegedly being paid. The youths condemned those who accepted the money and signed the documents, accusing them of betraying the senator.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s camp has distanced itself from the deceptive mobilization, stating that the initiative was orchestrated by those seeking to remove her from office. The development has sparked widespread criticism, with many questioning the tactics used in the recall process.
