[Very Graphic Images] Angry Mob Sets Suspected Kidnapper Ablaze

In a dramatic turn of events at Alihame, Agbor, in the Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, a mob took justice into their own hands by setting ablaze a man suspected of kidnapping. This incident occurred on Saturday, February 24, 2024, after the Alihame Vigilante Group apprehended about nine individuals suspected of engaging in kidnapping activities. They were found in an uncompleted building near the Oriri area of Agbor-Obi, acting on a distress call from a concerned resident.

The scene quickly escalated as the vigilante group transported the suspects to Board Road, Alihame, attracting attention from various parts of the community. The Alihame Vigilante Group immediately contacted the police for assistance. However, before the police could securely transport the suspects to the station, the gathered mob overpowered them. They forcibly removed one of the suspects from the police van, causing him to fall and severely injure his head on the pavement.

Ignoring the pleas and efforts of the vigilante group and the police to maintain order, the mob proceeded to set the suspected kidnapper on fire, resulting in his death. In the aftermath of the chaos, the authorities were able to recover six rifles, ammunition, daggers, handsets, and various articles of clothing from the apprehended group. These items, along with the remaining suspects, have been handed over to the police for a thorough investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.
