VDM Has Undone My Father’s Principles – Falz

Falz Responds to Defamation Allegations, Calls Out VeryDarkMan’s False Claims

Nigerian rapper Falz has finally spoken about the defamation lawsuit he filed against social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) after VDM alleged that Falz and his father, Femi Falana (SAN), helped dismiss money laundering charges against popular crossdresser Bobrisky.

Speaking on the Afrobeats Podcast, Falz opened up about his attempts to settle the matter with VDM amicably, despite the viral accusations. According to Falz, VDM was defensive from the start of their conversation. “He was instantly defensive. I’m like, ‘Bro, try to listen—what are you fighting about?’ And he replied, ‘Shebi you’re a lawyer; go to court,’” Falz recounted.

Although Falz had the option to pursue criminal charges for defamation, he chose not to escalate the issue, opting instead to give VDM a chance to retract the statements and apologize. “There’s a criminal angle to defamation, and I chose not to go that route,” Falz explained. “I asked him to take it down and apologize within a specific time frame. And what did he do? Nothing.”

The rapper also expressed frustration over the impact of these claims on his father’s reputation. “He trampled on everything my father stood for,” Falz said, underscoring his father’s dedication to human rights and justice. “If you say you want to find trouble, trouble is my work. If that’s what you’re looking for, let’s go.”

This candid response highlights Falz’s determination to defend his and his family’s reputation against what he calls “completely false” allegations, standing firm on his decision to take the matter to court
