At the top of the River Niger Bridge in Onitsha, Anambra State, two children were crushed to death by a truck.

It was discovered that the truck’s brakes failed, which caused the collision.

Around 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, the incident occurred. Nonetheless, the mother of the two dead kids managed to flee unharmed.

“The trailer which was heading towards Asaba lost control and hit the mother and her children along with other passengers waiting to board vehicles heading to Asaba,” stated an eyewitness who verified the incident.

“The mother was fortunate to escape, but both of her children perished from crushing.”

According to the eyewitness, the mother wept bitterly. Injuries were suffered by a few additional accident participants.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, or FRSC, has not yet responded to comments regarding this occurrence as of the time this story was filed.
