Tragedy in Anambra: At Least 16 K!lled in Nibo Cult Clash

Tragedy struck the Nibo community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State on Sunday, as gunmen reportedly killed at least 16 people, mostly youths, in what is suspected to be a deadly cult clash.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the violence erupted as a result of a cult war, leading to widespread panic in the area. A disturbing video circulating online shows the aftermath, with bodies lying lifeless on the ground.

One Facebook user, warning others to avoid the area, posted, “Please avoid Nibo today. Many feared dead already. They said it’s cult clash. Our youths are dying in their numbers.”

Another user, Ifeyinwa Okeke, confirmed that the emergency ward at Amaku Teaching Hospital, Awka, was overwhelmed with victims from the attack, describing the situation as “terrible.”

As of the time of filing this report, government authorities in Anambra State have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
