The Bureau Newspaper can disclose that on Monday, residents of Akure, the capital of Ondo state, participated in massive looting of food products and grains that were transported into the state by truck.

After the truck experienced a technical malfunction at one of the well-known intersections along the Ondo express road known as the cultural center, it was overpowered.

The Bureau Newspaper discovered that food products bearing President Bola Tinubu’s cartoon logo were being transported by the fully loaded vehicle.

Petty dealers, craftspeople, truckers, and commercial motorcycle riders were among the people who attacked the truck and stole its contents, according to multiple witnesses who attested to the events.

“I’m still amazed at how they found out about the content. Before we realized it, the locals had forced the truck’s door open due to a mechanical issue.

According to a witness, “They started to pull out the items in the pack, which are mostly grains like rice and garri branded in President Tinubu’s blue color, name, and emblem.”

However, video that went viral on Monday night showed food scraps found on the side of the road.

Ibidapo Adelusi, a social critic, quickly denounced the locals’ behavior and suggested that the police pursue the offenders.

“We acknowledge that there is poverty and hunger in the country, but this is an offense against human dignity. Mr. Adelusi stated that the police must not be reluctant to apprehend these robbers.

When contacted, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the police spokesman for Ondo, she was not immediately available for comment.

As of the time this report was filed, a message asking for a response had not yet been sent.
