A tragic accident in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, claimed the lives of three policemen and a female suspect on Friday.
The incident occurred when a truck lost control and rammed into the police vehicle the officers were traveling in, resulting in the immediate death of the four victims.
Details of the Incident
The deceased officers, members of the monitoring unit of the Ondo State Police Command, had left Akure, the state capital, to carry out an arrest in Ore before the crash.
According to an eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity, the accident took place as the truck was descending the Ore Bridge. The vehicle reportedly lost control and collided with the police vehicle ahead of it.
“The truck lost control while descending the Ore Bridge and rammed into the police vehicle that was in front of it,” the source stated.
While the identities of the victims remain unknown as of press time, it was confirmed that all three officers and the female suspect died on the spot.
Injured Officer Rushed to Hospital
One of the officers, who sustained severe injuries, was quickly transported to an undisclosed hospital for urgent medical attention.

It was later revealed that the female victim was a suspect the police officers had traveled from Akure to arrest.
