Ondo Police Confirm Kidnapping of Three FECA Students Near Akure Airport
The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of three students from the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure (FECA) while they were returning from a farm near Akure Airport.
The incident occurred at Oke Oge, Oba-Ile, in Akure North Local Government Area on Saturday evening. The students, who were undergoing industrial training, were reportedly abducted while heading home.
Security Agencies Mobilized
Confirming the abduction, Funmi Odunlami, spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, stated that anti-kidnapping operatives had been deployed to track down the kidnappers and ensure the students’ safe rescue.
Similarly, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, the state commander of Amotekun, disclosed that his team, in collaboration with other security agencies, had been mobilized to secure the victims’ release.
Kidnappers Demand N15 Million Ransom
Meanwhile, sources revealed that the kidnappers have contacted the victims’ families, demanding a N15 million ransom for their release. A family source confirmed receiving a call from the abductors, raising concerns over the growing wave of insecurity in the region.
This latest abduction has heightened fears over the safety of students and workers in rural areas, particularly those involved in agricultural activities. Security agencies have assured residents that efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
