Six Persons Dead, Scores Injured In Lokoja Road Accident In Kogi

At least six people lost their lives, and 60 others sustained injuries following an accident involving an articulated truck on Hassan Katsina Road in Lokoja, Kogi State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred around 3pm on Tuesday.

This is contained in a statement by the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi State, Mr. Samuel Oyedeji.

“I can confirm to you that six people died, while 60 others got injured in the accident,” Oyedeji stated.

The statement read, “Our officers in collaboration with the Police and the NSCDC personnel have rushed the injured to the Kogi Specialist Hospital and the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, for medical attention.

“The remains of the six people have also been deposited at the Federal University Teaching Hospital.

“We learnt the truck from Bauchi was heading to Enugu State before the unfortunate incident that occurred around Zone 8 Roundabout, Lokoja, Kogi,” he added.
