Shocking Discovery in Anambra: Three Siblings K!lled and Stored in Freezer

Tragic Murder of Three Siblings in Nnewichi, Nnewi, Anambra State

Three young siblings—a 9-year-old girl, a 7-year-old girl, and a 5-year-old boy—have been tragically murdered in their home in Nnewichi, Nnewi, Anambra State. Their bodies were found stored in a deep freezer by yet-to-be-identified assailants.

The siblings—Ejezie Chikaima Daviana (9), Ejezie Chimziterem Dominica (7), and Ejezie Chimdilim David (5)—were home alone on the day of the crime. Their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, a lecturer and nurse, had left for an examination, leaving the children in the house.

Upon her return, Mrs. Ejezie found the door to the house wide open, an unusual occurrence since the children typically ensured the house was securely locked whenever they played outside. Concerned, she searched the area, including the church where the children served as altar boys and girls, but they were nowhere to be found.

Mr. Ejezie Udochukwu, the children’s father, who resides in Irrua, Edo State, received the devastating news on Saturday, February 1. He was informed by his wife and rushed to Nnewichi. Mr. Ejezie recounted, “When my wife returned home, the children were missing. She searched for them alone and with others but found no trace. In despair, she opened the deep freezer, only to discover their lifeless bodies inside.”

The family lives in a bungalow shared with two tenants and their landlord. According to Mr. Ejezie, the children were eating when the assailants reportedly stormed the house around noon. There were traces of food in the plates, which had been hastily abandoned.

The bodies have been taken to a morgue, and the police have launched an investigation into the murders. Mr. Ejezie expressed his heartbreak, stating, “I am completely devastated. My three children were killed at the same time by unknown attackers.”

Police Investigation Underway

Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, has ordered a comprehensive investigation. “The bodies have been recovered, and the CP has transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for a thorough investigation. More details will be shared later,” Ikenga said.

Calls for Justice

The tragic event has shaken the residents of Nnewichi, who have called for a full and fair investigation into the crime, demanding justice for the slain children. This incident follows another heartbreaking tragedy that occurred just a month earlier, in Nise, Awka South Local Government Area, where three siblings were found dead in their father’s car under similarly chilling circumstances.

The community is still reeling from the two devastating losses, and residents are anxiously awaiting answers as the investigation progresses.
