Abuja, Nigeria – Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has filed a lawsuit against Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the Federal High Court in Abuja, challenging her alleged exclusion from Senate leadership and committee assignments.
The suit, which also names Mfon Patrick, a legislative aide to Akpabio, as a defendant, comes amid claims that the Senate President deliberately sidelined the Kogi Central senator from critical legislative roles.
Sources close to the senator indicate that the case includes allegations of defamation, abuse of office, and discrimination, as well as concerns about unfair treatment within the Senate.
While details of the court filings are yet to be fully disclosed, the lawsuit signals an escalation in the ongoing tensions between Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio, which have sparked debates over fairness and inclusion in the current Senate leadership.
