Senator Natasha Seeks Industrial Collaboration Between Aviation Sector, Ajaokuta Steel

The senator representing the residents of Kogi Central senatorial district, Senator Natasha H Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Wednesday, called for industrial collaboration between the aviation sector and the Ajaokuta steel company in her country home.

Contributing to a bill sponsored by Senator Gbenga Daniel, Senator Natasha said a working Ajaokuta steel would provide the spare parts needed to run the aviation industry in Nigeria.

She noted that she hopes to see Kogi State as the industrial hub of the country and Africa in the nearest future when the Ajaokuta steel complex is revived.

“In building capacity across the various sectors, we need to begin to think deeply about growing capacity and skills in technology-driven areas.

“Without a doubt, considering the fact that this administration is serious about reviving the Ajaokuta Steel company, we will be speaking not just about assembling planes but also developing the spare parts in Nigeria when the steel industry is set and running.

“I lend my voice on behalf of the good people of Kogi Central, hoping that in the nearest future, Kogi State is going to position itself as the industrial hub of the country and Africa, and we will proudly contribute our own quota in building the spare parts and lending our own technological support in having the aviation industry grow,” she said.
