New York, USA – Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested Monday night by federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in New York City, according to multiple sources who spoke with ABC News. A federal grand jury in Manhattan returned an indictment, leading to his arrest. The specific charges against the music mogul remain sealed at this time.

Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, strongly criticized the legal action in a public statement, describing the prosecution as “unjust.”

“We are deeply disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs,” Agnifilo said. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and philanthropist who has spent three decades building an empire and uplifting the Black community. He is not a criminal.”

The attorney emphasized Combs’ cooperation with the investigation, stating that the hip-hop mogul had voluntarily relocated to New York in anticipation of the charges.

“Please reserve judgment until the facts are fully revealed. These are the actions of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court,” Agnifilo concluded.

Investigation and Allegations

Combs has been under investigation for almost a year following allegations from his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who filed a civil lawsuit against him. Her lawsuit was followed by at least 10 others, all of which Combs has denied.

Earlier this year, federal agents raided Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami, seizing electronic devices as part of the investigation. At the time, a spokesperson for HSI confirmed that the raids were part of an “ongoing investigation.”

Law enforcement sources revealed that the federal investigation, led by the Southern District of New York, centers on allegations of sex trafficking and other serious crimes. Several women have filed civil lawsuits accusing Combs of sexual misconduct, including rape and sex trafficking, all of which he vehemently denies.
