In recognition of exemplary service and people-oriented governance, the Arewa Media Foundation and Development Initiative has conferred the Outstanding Leadership Service Award on the Executive Chairman of Rimin Gado Local Government Area, Hon. Muhammad Sani Salisu Jilin.
The foundation described Hon. Jilin as the best performing Local Government Chairman in Kano State, citing his commitment to infrastructure development, institutional reform, and a transparent, inclusive leadership style.
According to a press statement issued by the foundation’s Coordinator, Usman Shehu, the award was a result of a thorough evaluation of the chairman’s achievements since assuming office.
“Chairman Jilin has demonstrated true leadership through his open-door policy, citizen empowerment programmes, and sustained delivery of critical infrastructure to the people of Rimin Gado. His governance reflects transparency, accountability, and dedication to grassroots development,” Shehu stated.
Award Ceremony Details
The prestigious award will be presented at a special event scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Rimin Gado Local Government Secretariat, with key stakeholders, dignitaries, and youth leaders in attendance.
The Arewa Media Foundation emphasized that the award is part of its broader efforts to celebrate effective governance, promote sustainable leadership at the grassroots, and encourage transparency and service delivery across Northern Nigeria.
This recognition comes amid growing calls for performance-based accountability and a shift toward citizen-centered governance models in Nigeria’s local government system.
