President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi as the Acting Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), effective immediately. This appointment follows the pre-retirement leave of the current AGF, Dr. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein.

Ogunjimi is a highly experienced career civil servant with over three decades of expertise in financial management. He is the most senior director in the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF). His past roles include:

- Director of Finance and Accounts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Speaking about Ogunjimi’s appointment, President Tinubu stated:

The president also expressed gratitude towards Dr. Madein for her exceptional service and contributions to Nigeria’s financial management system. Dr. Madein, who will reach the statutory retirement age in the civil service, is set to officially retire on March 7, 2025.
