Parish Priest Abduction Sparks Urgent Appeal for Rescue

Gusau, Zamfara State – Mikah Suleiman, the parish priest of St. Raymond Catholic Church in Damba, Gusau, has issued a distressing plea for help after being abducted by bandits. In a harrowing 51-second video circulating on social media, Suleiman, clad in a blue T-shirt and boxer shorts, is seen sitting on the ground, urgently appealing for assistance.

Abducted from the church rectory on June 22, Suleiman, the sole captive, described the grave conditions of his captivity, stating that the bandits had warned they do not keep hostages for extended periods and threatened violence if their demands are not swiftly met.

“They told me that killing a person is not difficult for them. They said they are just helping me by keeping me; please, I am asking for help,” Suleiman pleaded in the video, highlighting the urgency of the situation and expressing fear for his life if immediate action is not taken.

During his appeal, a stick from one of the bandits off-camera was seen touching his head, underscoring the gravity of his predicament.

Efforts are underway to secure the safe return of Mikah Suleiman, with his abduction prompting widespread concern and calls for swift action to ensure his safety. The parish and local authorities are actively engaged in efforts to facilitate his release.

The publication aims to raise awareness of the dire situation facing Mikah Suleiman and to urge immediate action for his safe return.
