Lokoja, Kogi State – In a touching display of interfaith harmony, Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, the Alema of Warri Kingdom, celebrated Eid-el-Kabir with the Muslim community in Kogi Central. Although a devout Christian, Chief Uduaghan’s participation in the Muslim festivities underscores his respect and appreciation for Islam.
Accompanied by his wife, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Chief Uduaghan visited her hometown in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, where he joined the local Muslim community for Eid prayers and celebrations. His presence was warmly received, and his involvement in the celebrations highlighted his affection and respect for his in-laws in Kogi Central.
This act of goodwill and unity is particularly significant given the current religious tensions in the country. Chief Uduaghan’s actions illustrate that mutual respect, understanding, and peaceful coexistence are attainable in Nigeria’s diverse and complex society.
Earlier on Saturday, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan distributed rams to central mosques across the five local government areas of the senatorial district. This initiative further emphasized her dedication to fostering unity and promoting peaceful relationships among different faith communities.
