PDP is Finished!” – Dino Melaye Declares

Senator Dino Melaye Declares ‘End of the Road’ for PDP, Alleges Party’s ‘Commercialisation and Privatisation’

Abuja, Nigeria – In a provocative statement, Senator Dino Melaye has taken to social media to declare the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) effectively defunct, blaming its leadership for the alleged downfall. Posting on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), Senator Melaye accused the National Chairman, Umar Damagun, alongside key figures such as Senator Ahmed Bature and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, of irreversibly damaging the party.

“End of the road for PDP as Damagun, Bature, and Anyanwu irredeemably destroyed the party. We will talk about the commercialisation and privatisation of PDP. PDP is now once upon a time,” Senator Melaye wrote.

The outspoken politician’s remarks have ignited widespread debate, as he hinted at deeper issues within the party’s structure, accusing its leadership of turning the PDP into a commercial entity rather than a political institution. Senator Melaye’s declaration has sparked concerns among party loyalists and political analysts alike, raising questions about the future of Nigeria’s main opposition party.

As the PDP prepares for upcoming elections, the statement has the potential to create further divisions within the party. Senator Melaye’s accusations come at a critical time, with the party facing internal challenges and seeking to regain its footing in the national political landscape.

This development marks a significant moment in Nigerian politics, as the future of the PDP remains uncertain amid these fresh allegations of internal strife and mismanagement. Party leaders are yet to respond to the claims made by Senator Melaye, but the fallout from his statement is expected to have lasting implications for the party’s unity and prospects.
