Ooni Unveils Golden Statue in Tribute to First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu (Video)

Ile-Ife, Nigeria – In a grand ceremony held at Obafemi Awolowo University, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, unveiled a golden statue of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday, marking her contributions to education, women’s empowerment, and national unity.

The event also included the inauguration of significant projects on the university campus, including the 2.7 km Senator Oluremi Tinubu Way, a grand pavilion, and a monument, all of which were donated by the monarch in her honor.

During the ceremony, the Ooni praised Mrs. Tinubu’s exceptional leadership, noting the symbolic value of the golden statue. “A golden statue is erected to immortalize her virtuous personality and showcase the strength of a teacher, mother, and wife at the very heart of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife,” he said.

The First Lady also pledged a donation of N1 billion to support the university’s horticultural landscaping, further emphasizing her dedication to education and development.
