The National NNPP Supporters Group has reaffirmed its loyalty and support for the Kano State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, following the suspension of four federal lawmakers over alleged anti-party activities and disrespect for party leadership.
Speaking to journalists, the group’s National Chairman, Usman Kabir Rano, commended Dungurawa for his firm leadership, describing him as a true grassroots democrat committed to the growth and stability of the NNPP at all levels.
“Dr. Dungurawa is a visionary leader whose actions are in the best interest of the party. His leadership remains a driving force for the NNPP’s progress across wards, local governments, and the state,” Rano stated.
He reiterated the group’s unwavering loyalty to the NNPP’s national leader, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, and Dr. Dungurawa, adding that they reject any external interference in the party’s affairs.
“We are certain that our party is in the hands of competent persons, and we reject any impostor claiming to lead the NNPP from Abuja or elsewhere,” he added.
The statement comes amid ongoing tensions within the party, as the suspension of the four lawmakers has further deepened the NNPP’s internal crisis.
