NiMet Predicts Rain and Thunder in Kogi, Other States Monday to Wednesday

Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted a mix of rainy and thundery weather conditions across various regions of the country from Monday to Wednesday.

In a weather outlook released on Sunday, NiMet predicted isolated thunderstorms over parts of Katsina, Sokoto, Kano, Zamfara, Kebbi, Kaduna, Adamawa, and Taraba states in the northern region during the morning hours on Monday.

Later in the day, these thunderstorms are expected to spread to other areas, including Borno, Gombe, Bauchi, Yobe, and more parts of the northern region. Intermittent rains are also predicted over Benue, Niger, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kogi, and Kwara states in the morning, with localized rains expected in the afternoon and evening across parts of the FCT, Plateau, Niger, and Nasarawa states.

In the southern region, NiMet anticipates isolated rains over Ebonyi, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Cross River states during the morning hours on Monday, with further localized rains later in the day across additional states including Ondo, Anambra, Osun, Oyo, and Edo.

For Tuesday, NiMet expects isolated thunderstorms to continue over parts of Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, and Taraba states in the morning, with the afternoon and evening hours bringing thunderstorms to an expanded list of states including Kaduna, Gombe, Yobe, Zamfara, and Jigawa.

Residents are advised to stay updated on the weather forecasts and take necessary precautions during this period of predicted thunderstorms and rains.
