Nigerian Arrested in Libya for Burning Fellow Nigerian

A Nigerian man was detained for reportedly attacking and burning another Nigerian in Ubari city, located in Southern Libya.

The arrest, which occurred on Thursday, February 15, 2024, was detailed by Migrant Rescue Watch in a social media update. The apprehension followed a hospital’s notification to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) about the incident.

According to the report, “The police (CID), acting on information from a hospital, apprehended a Nigerian migrant in Ubari for assaulting and inflicting burns on a fellow Nigerian national.”

The victim, who suffered severe injuries and burns, was urgently admitted to a hospital for treatment. Following the arrest, the accused was taken to the Ubari Security Directorate. It was there that he admitted his involvement in the violent act against the victim.
