The state executive council, which included commissioners, senior special advisers, special advisers, and personal assistants, was dissolved by Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, who also fired Barrister Muhammad Aliyu-Ubamdoma, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
After Vice President Kashim Shetima left after a one-day visit to inaugurate state projects, the news was made at an emergency executive meeting held at Government House, Lafia, on Friday.
“Although the exact reasons for the dissolution are unclear, the governor is known for restructuring the state’s administration,” a senior government official told Daily Trust in an anonymous statement.
Citing the need for a more effective and efficient governing structure, Governor Sule abolished the executive council in 2021.
“Citizens of Nasarawa State are awaiting additional clarification on the implications of this decision and the future direction of the state’s administration as the situation develops,” the source continued.
