Naira Appreciation: I Used ‘abidoshaker’ To Bring Down Dollar — Prophet Odumeje

Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanemere, also known as Odumeje, of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, has made a bold claim regarding the recent appreciation of the Nigerian Naira against the US dollar. According to DAILY POST, the controversial cleric attributed the improvement in the exchange rate to his spiritual powers, specifically invoking his so-called ‘Abidoshaker’ power.

In a statement made during a church program, captured on video, Odumeje boasted about using his ‘Abidoshaker’ to influence the exchange rate of the dollar to naira, which has seen significant appreciation from N1,920 per USD to N1,360 and N1,408.04 per USD at parallel and official foreign exchange markets, respectively. This claim has raised eyebrows and garnered attention, with Odumeje challenging skeptics to “Google all my miracles.”

Odumeje’s pronouncements didn’t stop at the currency market; he also suggested his intent to exert influence over Nigeria’s presidential seat, asserting, “I will still bring down dollar and still handle the presidential seat of Nigeria. I have never said anything without perfecting it.” This statement further extends the range of his audacious claims about his spiritual influence on national matters.

While Odumeje’s assertions about his supernatural abilities to affect the economy and political landscape are unverifiable and have been met with skepticism, they reflect his flair for making headline-grabbing pronouncements. Such claims contribute to the ongoing debate about the role of religious leaders in public discourse and their influence on their followers’ perceptions of socio-economic and political developments.
