In a disturbing turn of events, a young man identified as Sheriff Salifu and a woman, Blessing Adama, were discovered dead under mysterious circumstances in a room at Alo community, Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The discovery was made on Friday morning when the landlord, Mr. Salisu Ibrahim, noticed that the room occupied by Sheriff had remained unusually locked well into the day. Concerned about the silence and lack of movement, he promptly raised an alarm and notified both the police and the family of the deceased.
Upon forced entry by the deceased’s brother, a shocking sight was revealed—Sheriff Salifu and Blessing Adama were found lifeless and unclothed on the same bed. The chilling discovery has left residents in shock, fueling speculation and concern over what could have led to such a tragic end.
Speaking on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Kogi State, Superintendent William Aya, confirmed the case. He stated that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Ankpa immediately dispatched detectives to the scene.
“The detectives took photographs of the deceased at the location and transported their remains to the zonal hospital in Ankpa, where they were confirmed dead by medical professionals,” Aya disclosed.
The police have since launched a full-scale investigation to determine the cause of death. Toxicology tests and forensic evaluations are expected to be conducted to uncover the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate demise.
Authorities are urging the public to remain calm and avoid speculating until the results of the ongoing investigation are officially released.
