Ministry of Aviation Claimed It Spent N190bn On Ethiopian Aircraft Photoshoot- Peter Okoye

Peter Okoye, better known online as Mr. P, is a well-known Nigerian singer who has responded to the uproar surrounding the debut of Nigeria Air.

In a hearing with the Senate Committee on Aviation on Tuesday, the interim managing director of Nigeria Air, Captain Dapo Olumide, acknowledged that an Ethiopian aircraft had been chartered to introduce the nation’s national anthem.

The disclosure follows the House of Representatives’ declaration that the launch of Nigeria Air was a fraud.

Peter Okoyo reacted to this in a tweet on Wednesday, lamenting how money keeps leaving the country due to dishonest politicians.

“Monkey stole billions, snake ate billions only in Nigeria,” he tweeted. Now that they have borrowed an Ethiopian plane for a photo shoot worth 190 billion naira, dem are about to sell our nation.

Hadi Sirika, the previous aviation minister, quickly introduced Nigeria Air on May 26, 2023, only hours before the end of the former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, claiming it will earn $1 billion in revenue within five years.
