Man Sues His Wife For Allegedly Getting Pregnant For Another Man Twice

In a case at a Customary Court in Jikwoyi, FCT, Desmond Igbo has initiated divorce proceedings against his spouse, Rosemary, citing a profound breach of trust. Desmond’s distress stems from the revelation that two of their children were conceived with another man, a fact admitted by Rosemary during their marriage.

Desmond, a plumber by profession, outlined his grievances in the divorce petition, emphasizing the emotional turmoil caused by the unexpected revelation. He highlighted his role in nurturing and caring for all the children for over a decade, under the belief that they were biologically his.

The revelation not only questioned the paternity of the children but also cast a shadow on the emotional and understanding dynamics of their marriage. According to Desmond, the foundation of their relationship—trust and love—has been irrevocably damaged, leading him to seek a formal separation.

Contrary to Desmond’s accusations, Rosemary, who is engaged in business, denied the allegations, bringing an additional layer of complexity to the case. Her denial suggests a dispute over the facts presented by Desmond.

The presiding judge, Thelma Baba, recognizing the gravity and the personal anguish involved, recommended that the couple consider reconciliation. The case has been adjourned, providing both parties time to contemplate settlement before further proceedings. This case highlights the intricate and personal challenges that surface in marital disputes, particularly those involving paternity and trust.
