A Pakistani man has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting the administrator of a community WhatsApp group for removing him from the chat.
The tragic incident occurred on Thursday evening in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to Pakistani police.
How the Dispute Turned Deadly
Authorities identified the victim as Mushtaq Ahmed, who was killed after an argument escalated between him and the suspect, identified only as Ashfaq.
Mushtaq’s brother revealed that the two had initially agreed to meet for reconciliation after Ashfaq was removed from the WhatsApp group. However, instead of a peaceful resolution, Ashfaq allegedly arrived at the meeting armed and opened fire, killing Mushtaq on the spot.
Police Investigation
Law enforcement confirmed that Ashfaq was furious over being removed from the group, which reportedly led to the fatal attack.
Authorities have since arrested Ashfaq, and he is expected to face murder charges in court.
