Tragic: Delta Commercial Motorcyclist Commits Suicide After Marriage Collapse
A commercial motorcyclist, simply identified as Papa Ejime, has reportedly taken his own life after consuming a substance suspected to be an insecticide.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday morning in Oghara, Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Sources revealed that the deceased was devastated following the collapse of his marriage. He was also said to be a habitual gambler who frequently subjected his wife to physical abuse whenever he lost bets.
Neighbours, who preferred to remain anonymous, recounted that earlier this year, Papa Ejime brutally punched his wife in the mouth, leading to the loss of her teeth.
According to them, before the marriage fell apart, his wife had been the sole provider for the family, covering expenses such as house rent, feeding, and their children’s school fees. Unable to endure the continuous domestic violence, she eventually left with their children.
Despite repeated attempts by the deceased to reconcile with his wife, she refused to return. Faced with the rejection and the breakdown of his marriage, he allegedly took his own life.
The incident has left the community in shock, with many lamenting the unfortunate turn of events.
