Admiral Jibrin Usman Calls for Peace Among Supporters of Igala Governorship Candidates

The Governorship Candidate of the Accord Party, AP, Admiral Jibrin Usman Oyibe, has issued a statement, appealing to political supporters, mainly from Kogi East, to desist from insults, name-calling, and falsehoods capable of causing unrest in the land.

The former Chief of Naval Staff made this call while addressing newsmen at his Abuja Campaign office yesterday. He said, “I perfectly understand how eager the kingdom is for the dividends of democracy; I understand the frustration, but again, we must resist the temptation of causing tension within ourselves”.

We have come a long way as a people; we must not allow politics to deplete our unity and peaceful coexistence, which before now endured in the Igala kingdom.

Speaking further, the former Chief of Naval Staff, who emerged as the flag bearer of the Accord Party, AP, a month ago in Lokoja, the state metropolis, expressed optimism heading towards the election.

I’m confident that we, as a kingdom, will come out victorious in the tussle ahead, but again, we must be civil with our activities as we map out the strategy to rescue Kogi state from the shackles of warped rulership he said.
