Lokoja Student Confesses to Killing Female Colleague (Video)

Lokoja, Nigeria – A 100-level Biology student of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Kogi State, identified as Jeremiah, has confessed to the murder of a female colleague, Deborah, whom he had earlier kidnapped.

Jeremiah, originally from Kaduna State, was apprehended by Kogi State police officers, and during interrogation, he led the authorities to a bush where he had buried Deborah’s body.

According to reports, the suspect abducted Deborah, also known as Damilola, and took her to an uncompleted building. He then demanded a ransom of N400,000 from her family, which was paid. However, despite receiving the ransom, Jeremiah ended her life.

When questioned by the police about his actions, Jeremiah claimed that after the ransom was paid, he killed her because she had seen his face, and he did not want her to escape and reveal his identity.

In a gruesome twist, there were allegations that Damilola’s genitals had been mutilated. However, Jeremiah denied cutting off any part of her body.

Following the murder, Jeremiah reportedly contacted her family again, demanding an additional N10 million. His attempts to extort more money failed, as the police were able to track him down and arrest him.

When asked if he had any accomplices, Jeremiah confessed that he acted alone throughout the kidnapping and murder.

The tragic incident has sparked outrage within the university community and across the state as many call for justice for the young woman whose life was brutally cut short. The police investigation is ongoing.
