Libya Police Arrest Two Nigerians For Kidnapping African Girl, Attempted Extortion

The Libya Al-Qahira Police Department in Sabha has arrested two Nigerian nationals accused of kidnapping an African girl and attempting to extort money from her.

Authorities revealed that the victim was successfully rescued during a police operation, which also led to the apprehension of the suspects.

In a statement by Migrant Rescue Watch, on Sunday, the organisation confirmed that the suspects have been handed over to the public prosecution for legal proceedings.

The statement reads, “Al-Qahira Police Dept. (Sabha) arrested 2 undocumented #migrants of Nigerian nationality responsible for kidnapping of an African girl and attempted extortion.

“Police during op successfully freed the victim and apprehended the perpetrators.

“Both accused were referred to public prosecution for legal action.”
