The Kogi State Government has restated its commitment to the transformation and revitalization of the Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Mopa, located in Mopa-Muro Local Government Area.
Deputy Governor of the state, Comrade Joel Salifu, gave the assurance on Monday while receiving the newly appointed Provost of the institution, Dr. Muhammed Kebiru Ibrahim, and members of the college management team at his office in Lokoja.
According to a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr. Unubi Emmanuel, Comrade Salifu emphasized the state government’s readiness to collaborate with the college leadership to reposition the institution for greater excellence.
He reaffirmed that the vision of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s Advance New Direction Administration is to position Kogi as a leading educational hub in Nigeria. He encouraged the college management to rally behind the new Provost in repositioning the institution, stressing the administration’s guiding principle of building “One Kogi State.”
Highlighting Dr. Kebiru’s impressive track record during his tenure at the Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa, the Deputy Governor charged him to remain a worthy ambassador of the state and a model of integrity and service. He described Governor Ododo as a detribalized and visionary leader whose leadership continues to foster unity and development across Kogi.
Comrade Salifu also expressed his willingness to support the college, stating that his office remains open for consultation and collaboration. He congratulated Dr. Kebiru on his appointment and wished him a successful tenure.
In his remarks, Dr. Muhammed Kebiru Ibrahim expressed appreciation to the Deputy Governor for the warm reception. He said the visit was to formally inform him of his appointment and to seek support for his mission to reposition the institution.
Dr. Kebiru assured the government of his commitment to leveraging his experience and skills to improve the standard of education at the college. He called for increased government support and advocacy towards transforming the institution into a center of excellence.
