The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, has endorsed the Kogi East Youth Leadership Retreat 2025, set to hold in March this year.

The endorsement was given during a meeting with the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi East chapter, at his office in Lokoja on February 5, 2025.

In a press statement issued by his Press Secretary, Mr. Unubi Emmanuel, Deputy Governor Salifu highlighted the retreat’s importance in nurturing leadership skills among the youth. He emphasized that young people are not just the future but the present leaders and must be prepared for leadership roles and responsibilities. He pledged his full support to ensure the program’s success.

The Deputy Governor also urged youths to uphold a positive image, contribute to peace and development, and support the state’s progress under the current administration.

Earlier, the NYCN Kogi East leader, Apostle Alih Sunday, stated that the visit was to inform the Deputy Governor—who is the most senior political leader from Kogi East—about the retreat and to seek his support. He commended the state government’s commitment to empowering youths and promoting leadership development in Kogi State.
