KANO, NIGERIA – In the midst of the ongoing Kano Emirate dispute, security forces in Kano State have revealed a disturbing plan to incite chaos and cause widespread destruction. This revelation was made during a press briefing on Sunday night by Commissioner of Police Usaini Gumel, alongside leaders of key security agencies including the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Key Intelligence Uncovered

CP Gumel disclosed that credible intelligence pointed to a group of individuals identified as enemies of the state, who are planning targeted attacks on significant locations within Kano, particularly the Kano State House of Assembly.

“We have uncovered credible intelligence about some group of people who are considered as enemies of the state and miscreants who are trying to unleash terror in the state by embarking on targeted attacks at locations, particularly the House of Assembly and some prominent locations within the state capital,” CP Gumel stated. “This intelligence has been verified by so many sources.”

Proactive Measures by Security Forces

To counteract these threats, security agencies have initiated extensive patrols and targeted operations to detect and neutralize potential threats. CP Gumel emphasized that there will be no safe haven for those intending to disrupt the state’s peace.

“We have perfected plans to embark on serious patrols as well as detections particularly areas where we were informed that the miscreants are hiding. No hiding place for them,” he said.

He further warned that anyone found planning to disrupt the state’s peace or undermine the existing security framework will be arrested and face legal consequences.

“Whoever, under whatever guise, is found to be planning to disrupt the peace being enjoyed in the State or feel that he/she can jeopardize the existing security settings in the State will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law,” Gumel declared.

House-to-House Searches Planned

To ensure comprehensive security coverage, CP Gumel announced that security forces would conduct house-to-house searches to apprehend any individuals involved in these plans.

“We are going to embark on a house-to-house search for anybody who thinks they are above the law,” he concluded.
