Kano – In its ongoing effort to improve healthcare access across the state, the Kano State Hospital Management Board (HMB) is set to distribute antisickling drugs, Cesarean section (CS) items, and delivery kits to health facilities throughout Kano.

Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda, the Executive Secretary of the HMB, announced that the items to be distributed in April include 500 Cesarean section packs, 6,000 delivery packs, and hydroxyurea worth N55 million to support sickle cell disease patients.

The initiative highlights the Kano State government’s commitment to enhancing maternal health and healthcare services while reducing mortality rates.

Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, the Commissioner of the State Ministry of Health, is expected to lead the distribution event.

Since the beginning of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration, the Kano State government, through the HMB, has been regularly purchasing and distributing medical supplies worth hundreds of millions of naira. These items include delivery kits, cleansing materials, and emergency items aimed at improving healthcare delivery in the state.
