Kano Gov Lauds Committee for Returning ₦100 Million Excess from Uniform Funds

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has applauded the school uniform distribution committee for their integrity in returning ₦100 million in unspent funds from the ₦2 billion allocated for the initiative.

During the launch of 798,000 school uniforms for Primary One pupils at the Kano Government House, Governor Yusuf highlighted the committee’s honesty as a reflection of his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor praised the committee, chaired by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Tajo Othman, for their ethical conduct. He emphasized that the returned funds could have been misused but were instead redirected for further developmental projects.

Governor Yusuf also commended the quality of the uniforms and assured the public that the initiative would continue annually.
