Kaduna South: 16 Kidnapped Victims Freed From Terrorists Den [Pictures]

16 kidnapped victims were successfully freed from the grasp of violent extremists and terrorists in Tantatu Community, Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, by Nigerian Army troops stationed in 1 Division.

On March 17, 2024, at around 10:30 p.m., the army promptly followed the terrorists who had previously invaded the hamlet in large numbers and kidnapped some of the residents as captives in response to actionable intelligence.

“Upon reaching the scene of the incident, the troops tenaciously pursued the insurgents, engaging them in a fierce exchange of fire and subsequently rescuing 16 kidnapped victims,” an Army headquarters statement read.

In order to free more captives and thwart the insurgents’ evil plans, the soldiers are still taking advantage of the bushes during search and rescue missions.

“The troops were commended by Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja for the successful rescue of the victims of kidnapping.”

He gave them orders to maintain their vigilance while they carried out continuous counterinsurgency operations to free all of the nation’s troublesome areas.
