I Will Fight Smugglers and Corruption To A Standstill – Tinubu Vows

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu reaffirmed the administration’s efforts to combat the nation’s problems with corruption and smuggling.

Speaking on Thursday at the launching of the Lagos Red Line Train, Tinubu stated that his government’s economic policies cannot be reversed.

Vice President Kashim Shettima announced last week that the Federal Government has discovered 32 routes used to transport food products out of Nigeria.

“I agree that smugglers will fight back, just as corruption will fight back,” Tinubu stated, addressing the dangerous circumstances that are common at the nation’s borders. We’ll battle them till they’re nothing. Corruption will end, and (we will) save the money for you to fund our children’s education, our people’s healthcare system, and a cutting-edge transit network that serves the greatest number of people—not just a select few smugglers—told Tinubu.

“No Retreating From Reforms”
The President removed fuel subsidies before his inauguration in May of last year, which resulted in skyrocketing living expenses and prompted protests around the nation.

On Thursday, the President gave Nigerians reassurance that he would keep his campaign pledges to them, even in light of the current state of the nation’s economy.

“You believed in us when we stated we could succeed. You believed in us when we told that people’s lives will ultimately get better. Right now, I could hear a lot of voices. Since I applied for the job, I can’t complain because democracy is at its core.

However, we are not turning back from the revolution that has already begun and the reform that is still going on. The design, the building, the reaffirmation of our commitment to national loyalty. “I know one thing: there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel,” the man said.
