Grammy-nominated singer Davido has proudly shared that he has the phone numbers of 14 presidents, crediting his expansive network to the opportunities his music has provided for him and his family.
Speaking at the “Elevate Africa” program, Davido discussed how his global success has helped open doors to influential connections worldwide..
He said: “Aside from my dad’s businesses and wealth, I know how many doors my music has opened for my family. Yes o, forget the money. I have 14 presidents’ phone numbers. I can call them directly.
“In every country we go to, the president wants to meet us. That’s also promoting our culture. It’s an amazing feeling.”
Recall that the singer made headlines after appearing on the American podcast Big Homies House, where he advised Americans against relocating to Africa, particularly Nigeria.
Davido described the country’s economy as being in “shambles,” a statement that sparked a flurry of backlash from Nigerians at home and abroad.
The afrobeats star also hinted that his much-anticipated December show in Nigeria is being threatened to be canceled following his controversial remarks about the country’s economy.
